Star Bound

Creative Economics 2009

Why Rivers Beyond the Stars? This is the name my Korean friends gave me back in 1996. When Lemonade or Making Lemonade were not available we started struggling to have a name that fit. Keith was napping and I started the blog... the rest is history. I let you know what he says when he wakes up!

February 25
Keith and I  board our AeroMexico jet with the ultimate destination of Leon. Approximately 3 hours from Orlando and then a layover with another 45 minute flight. Taxi from airport was $13
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Silao.

February 26
We had a leisurely morning. The accommodation were very nice with workout room, pool, and nice breakfast included. Very good staff. For $71 it was a great quick stopover for the first night.

We got a taxi $3 from the hotel to the bus station and took a local bus $1.75 each (no air, a little grungy but no chickens - however, they may have considered it - it was fine -really) to Irapuarto. From there we got a 1st class bus $9 each (air, movie on route, bottle of water complimentary, and footrests - don't even think of bringing chickens) to Morelia. The ride was great. I love seeing the change in landscape going from the lowlands into the mountains.

Keith had gotten the name of a hotel from a website that listed it at $57. WOW, this place is right on the square and everything you could dream of how great that Keith had located this...WRONG. The website was a little off. The Viery de Mendoza is $150 per night for the junior suite...the most economical room they have. But, it did get us in a wonderful area and Keith got the name of another less expensive boutique hotel two blocks away....and it is great! A beautiful historic building maintained perfectly and decorated appropriately... for $70 per night. Highly recommend it. So happy.

Well, Keith just woke up....hum, lets see what he thinks!
